# Logging in

When you are using a public library computer or reserving one online you are required to log in using your library card and PIN. If you don’t haveaPINor have trouble logging in, please ask a member of the library staff for assistance. In some libraries usernames andpasswords are used instead of library cards and PINs. You can get your own username and password from your local library.

Some computers in your library may be available only for children and some are only for adults. eBooking uses your birthdate to calculate your age and see if you are allowed to use or book certain computers. Normally your birthdate is automatically obtainedfrom the customer registry of your library. If eBooking can’t determine your birthdate, youwill be askedto enter it the first time you log in to the system. Please make sure you enter it correctly(day, e.g. 02, month e.g. 11 and year e.g. 1966)before you proceed. Entering an incorrect birthdate willpreventyou from usingor bookingcomputers available for users of your age. After you have entered your birthdate you can continue to use eBooking or the computer you are logging in to. If you have entered the wrong birthdate, please ask a member of thelibrary staff for assistance.
